Apprentice Bartender -Banquet Bars- Steady Extra (Horseshoe LV)

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Bar Apprentice is to provide excellent service to all guests who approach the bar, keep the bar area clean and always stocked, and assist the Bartender with various duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

• Cleans bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, ice cambros, refrigerators and other bar appliances.
• Moves bar and backbar into event location and returning them to storage at the conclusion of the event.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds or more.
• Assists the bartender with restocking bar products during events.
•  Acknowledges, greets and converses with customers who approach the bar.
• Prepares and pours all types of drinks for customers and cocktail servers upon request providing they have a Union Pour Card.
• Prepares fruit caddies and non-alcoholic beverages for the assigned bar presets.
• Delivers tray jacks and trash cans to each bar and returns them to storage after the event.
• Empties trash cans during and after events.
• Restocks and rotates supplies and products in the beverage store rooms.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes.
• Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
• Must present a neat and professional appearance.
• Work requires interactions with customers, the public and co-workers.
• Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
• Work requires the ability to accurately count money and provide change.
• Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:  

• Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant public.
• Requires standing, walking, and lifting a minimum of 15-20lbs repeatedly. 
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors during varied weather conditions. 
• Shifts may vary based on business needs.
• Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
