Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Manages the physical security program and maintains the physical security of controlled spaces in accordance with established guidelines. Prepares the physical security budget, coordinates and reviews all physical security requirements and projects prior to submission. Serves as a physical security officer to manage an effective physical security program (collateral, SCI, and SAP) and facilities and safety disciplines. Assists in the development of SCIFs. Establishes procedures to ensure the workforce is compliant with security requirements on the contract as defined in the DD 254 and other official documentation. Assists the ISSM on security-related matters. Advises leadership on physical and facility security matters and oversees locks, logbooks, and timestamps. Conducts routine and annual inspections to ensure compliance with security directives. Administers and coordinates the DoD, Department of Energy (DOE), or other industrial security programs and activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in coordination with government agencies and management personnel. Administers Closed and Restricted Areas. Reviews and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations. Establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records and for granting personnel and visitor access to restricted records/materials. Prepares and conducts security education classes and security audits on and for facilities. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying future preventive actions. Performs status checks on facility security accreditation. Conducts security self-inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments. Interfaces with government customers on security related issues. Ensures proper safeguarding of classified information entrusted to the company as outlined in federal controlling instructions. Prepares and interfaces with the Defense Security Service during audits. Extensive knowledge of Communications Security (COMSEC) and of COMSEC Account Custodian of keying material for Secure Telephone Equipment (STE) communication devices and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) terminals. In-depth working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and proficiency in using Defense Information System for Security (DISS). Thorough knowledge of using/applying US Government online programs for facility and physical security.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
