Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at ONICON Incorporated. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting tasks. The role includes daily metric reporting, banking functions, preparing financial reports, month-end close journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounting research, process improvements, and supporting audits.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Daily metric reporting for sales.
  • Perform banking functions: positive pay uploads, exceptions, ACH and Wire payments.
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare post month end close sales reports.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform accounting research and determine the correct application.
  • Identify, suggest, and implement process improvements.
  • Support annual financial audits.
  • All other related duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirement:

  • Understanding of internal controls and accrual accounting.
  • Customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking, organizational skills, computer skills appropriate to the position, sense of urgency.
  • Microsoft Office products experience (Excel, Outlook, Word primarily), with an emphasis on Excel proficiency.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting/analysis role
