Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Finance organization within a hybrid work setting. We are looking for an Accountant to join our Country Operations accounting team. This position will play an active role in the month-end close and financial reporting process for designated Country Operations business units. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills with a strong desire to learn. The ability to prioritize, efficiently plan work activities, and be detail and results-oriented is critical to the position.

Responsibilities
- Ensure completion of monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and other tasks required for financial close.
- Prepare journal entries with review for accuracy and evaluate accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Ensure monthly accruals, allocations and other journal entries are accurate as new information is obtained.
- Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.
- Coordinate requested documentation in support of external and internal audits.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and actively participate in implementing solutions related to process efficiencies, standardization, system enhancements, and improved reporting capabilities.
- Perform, document, and support the design and operating effectiveness of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification
- Experience with SAP and Agris accounting software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI or similar advanced reporting tools
- Past direct work experience identifying and addressing weaknesses in internal controls
- Ability to:
- Complete assignments with minimal oversight
- Handle intermediate accounting activities
- Work effectively in multiple information systems and ERP systems
