Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders.
Florida State Hospital (FSH) is a mental health treatment facility owned and operated by the State of Florida and is part of the Department of Children and Families. The department’s mission is to “work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency.”

This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as a Stores Supervisor - SES within Food Services. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. This role requires the use of independent judgment, a proactive approach to responsibilities, and exceptional attention to detail. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Supervises three (3) Storekeeper II positions planning and directing work loads, deadlines, and objectives. Trains employees in the best methods for inventory control. Evaluates employees on the quality and quantity of work performed. Reviews performance evaluations. Recommends hiring, discharge, promotion, and discipline. May serve on screening committee.
- Orders all food items, via computer, based on information provided by Computrition computerized system, Food Service Administrators, and Food Service Directors. Initiates purchase requisitions to obtain supplies from central warehouse supply. Trains employees in the ordering process.
- Supervises, inspects, organizes warehouse areas for space utilization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervises the receipt, inspection, and distribution of supplies.
- Conducts physical inventory of pantry, freezers, coolers, and supplies on a monthly basis. Conducts spot check inventories periodically.
- Supervises inmates in the process of warehousing food products.
- While on duty follows and carries out Florida State Hospital Unit/Department safety practices and policies.
- Performs other related duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position:
- Duties of this position require the incumbent to be knowledgeable of an utilize the principles of quality management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of supervisory experience
- 1 year of ordering and keeping inventory of stock
- Valid Class C Drivers’ License
