Job Description

Why This Role:

The Analyst/Senior Analyst plays a critical role on the Multifamily Asset Management team by delivering timely, accurate reporting and actionable insights that support investment decision-making and property-level execution. This role works directly with senior asset managers and partners with third-party property management teams to monitor performance, execute financial analyses, and support valuations and business plans on a national multifamily portfolio, while improving recurring processes through better templates, automation, and responsible use of AI tools.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor market fundamentals such as rents, occupancy, supply/demand, competitors, and capital markets via research and travel to assigned markets, and summarize implications for pricing, leasing, and business plan execution.
  • Build and maintain financial models and analyses inclusive of multi-year revenue/expense/capex projections, DCFs, IRRs, equity multiples, and promotes to evaluate strategies and support investment decisions.
  • Own recurring property and portfolio level deliverables (monthly/quarterly reporting, business plans, investor requests) with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and clear storylines that explain performance drivers.
  • Support quarterly valuation processes by maintaining Argus models, validating key assumptions, and coordinating inputs for internal and third-party appraisal workflows.
  • Coordinate annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting; prepare variance and reforecast analyses that translate operational detail into concise implications, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Partner with property management to track and drive resolution of key property-level issues and initiatives, bringing structure, follow-up, and analysis that accelerates outcomes.
  • Continuously improve repeatable reporting and analytical workflows by enhancing templates, improving data quality checks, and leveraging LLM/AI tools responsibly to reduce manual effort while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects (Portfolio Management, Dispositions, Acquisitions, Development, Capital Markets), providing analytical support and disciplined execution as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Growth & Development:

  • Support for professional development, including Argus/excel training, industry conferences, and industry credentials.
  • Direct mentorship from senior asset management leadership and exposure across the investment lifecycle to foster success in your current role and career advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years in multifamily asset management or related experience in real estate finance/analytics with transferable responsibilities. Master’s degree in related field may substitute for experience.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, financial modeling, and data manipulation.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis concepts; familiarity with multifamily revenues and expenses is preferred.
  • Experience with Argus Enterprise and PowerBI preferred.
  • Ability to travel and ability to regularly work extended hours as needed.
  • Willing to work onsite full time.
  • Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job title.

Key Competencies:

  • Proven ability to use LLM/AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, while maintaining data quality and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and analytical thinking to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet competing deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and continuous learning.
