Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Billing Director to join our genetic testing laboratory. The successful candidate will lead and strategize billing operations, ensuring alignment with GeneDx's financial goals and regulatory standards. This role will drive the development and execution of billing strategies that maintain our laboratory's financial health and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead change management initiatives to improve billing workflows and integrate new industry practices.
• Prior to timely submission, ensure all billing information is complete and accurate.
• Manage the prior authorization process, ensuring timely submissions and follow-ups.
• Ensure team productivity metrics are met.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing billing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Analyze billing data to drive strategic financial planning and revenue optimization.
• Serve as a thought leader in billing compliance, proactively ensuring the organization adapts to industry changes and adheres to all regulatory guidelines.
• Work closely with other departments to streamline billing processes and improve overall workflow.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, medical coding, and insurance processes.
• Experience with prior authorization submissions and follow-ups.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a genetic testing laboratory or similar healthcare setting.
• Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CPB).
