About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Emergency Services & Security

Technician in Orange, Texas.

Senior ES&S Tech supports/executes processes required by Dow Standards to ensure company and regulatory readiness and compliance. They also follow Dow work processes and the Life Critical Standards to coordinate shift activities to support these requirements. Networks with Sabine River Operations (SRO) Environmental Health & Safety to optimize Emergency Services and Security within the Sabine River Operations (SRO) Site to ensure the Site is ready to handle and mitigate emergencies as they arise. Provides expertise and competencies as a value adding essential component of response to emergencies. 

Responsibilities

• Use the NIMS methodology for incident management and documentation
• Incident Commander for Site Emergencies
• Integrates with plant Immediate Response Leader (IRL) for emergency management
• Owns, updates, and improvements assigned Emergency Services & Security Work Processes and Procedures
• Responsible for communicating to site management on all security and emergency issues
• Leads and directs Emergency Response Team (ERT) training at off-site schools.  Coordinates the roster development and provides support and direction during the identified period
• Ensure that there are Emergency Response Team (ERT) members available 24/7 to respond to an emergency incident
• Responsible for maintenance and readiness of all emergency response equipment, including Inspections, Minor repairs, Work orders, Etc.
• Monitors and oversees contract security personnel and overall sites security operations

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required AND one of the following:
  • Minimum of 5 yrs of experience with emergency response and or medical services or equivalent work experience
  • 3 or more years of relevant military experience.
• Must have or be willing to earn EMT-Basic and HazMat Technician certifications.

• Must have a current, valid US driver’s license. 
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular schedule), nights, weekends and or holiday if required

Physical Demands

• Wear and use respirators.
• Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
• Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs. 
• Stand or walk for extended periods of time. 
• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.
