Senior Configuration Management Specialist
TerraPower is looking for a Senior Configuration Management Specialist to support its Natrium Project through design, construction, and operations. The Sr. Configuration Management Specialist will report to the Manager of Engineering Processes for the Natrium Project. The Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and implementing configuration items, controlling configuration data, and conducting configuration related audits. The Configuration Management Specialist will also be responsible maintaining project information in compliance with TerraPower’s Configuration Management processes and procedures, as well as training the Project Team on those processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day activities related to Configuration Management information and processes within the Natrium project
- Tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues
- Facilitates Configuration Management audits
- Reviews Configuration Management issues, drives resolution, and works to implement any required changes to the process
- Facilitates communication and engages business, Digital Engineering, IT management, and other stakeholders to encourage configuration management efforts
- Engages business to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required Configuration Management Information System (CMIS) functionality within project timeframes
- Works closely with the Digital Engineering team to ensure that the Digital Engineering platform supports the CMIS.
- Reviews and approves all changes to the CMIS infrastructure where applicable
- Reviews significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
- Supports Design reviews and Change Control Board Meetings, and enacts changes as directed
- Provides requirements, use cases, etc. in support of new or improving functionality of the CMIS
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field and at least 5 years of configuration management experience in a nuclear industry, or Master's and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Process improvement experience. Ability to identify needed changes to processes and activities and help to implement continuous improvement solutions.
- Experience with engineering strategies for new technologies and infrastructure processes.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
