Travel and Events Coordinator

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is seeking a Travel and Events Coordinator to join our fun and friendly marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the IXL events strategy, with your main focus on providing support to IXL’s Professional Learning Group to ensure smooth and successful IXL Live events. 

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about IXL’s mission to impact education.

This is a full time position with a hybrid work schedule for candidates close to our San Mateo, CA office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Source hotel venues for up to 60 nationwide IXL Live events per spring and fall season. Negotiate pricing and finalize contracts with vendors
• Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution - catering, AV, room setup, and payment
• Book hotel rooms for IXL Live presenters, assist with booking flights for event-related travel as needed
• Pack and ship event swag and supplies to and from events, track shipping, maintain inventory of materials
• Communicate event details and logistics to internal teams 
• Ensure presenters have everything they need for a successful event

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• BA/BS
• 2 - 4 years experience in events planning, marketing, and/or administrative work 
• Energetic and positive person who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and works well with deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communicator who can work well with a wide range of people
• Self-starter with the ability to plan and build timelines, prioritize tasks, and act resourcefully to resolve problems
• Quick learner who demonstrates initiative and can work well both within a team and independently
• An interest in education and education technology
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base hourly rate for this full-time position is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay ranges for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
