Provide administrative support to department chair with scheduling of meetings, maintaining calendar, preparing correspondence and reconciling expenses. Assist department chair in management of department with regard to faculty and staff issues; overseeing academic issues and deadlines; department planning, space planning and renovations as needed; and acting as liaison for/with faculty, students, staff, other departments, school, university and external customers. Supervise administrative staff (2). Compile dossiers for faculty appointments, reappointments and promotions cases and lecturer appointments. Coordinate faculty recruiting process to include meetings with search chair and committees, planning and placement of advertisements online, in publications and department website. Coordinate candidate visits and processing of dossiers. Oversee postdoc population and TA assignments. Plan and manage all department events and reconcile expenses on Concur. Provide administrative support to faculty as needed. Manage facility maintenance requests and liaison with LRSM Building Administrator in maintaining MSE labs. Schedule faculty meetings, oversee ordering and maintaining of all supplies and equipment in offices.
