Not an ordinary childcare setting! We have a variety of support systems in our day care center, for the children and their families in including a behavioral health therapist for the childcare center children, physical and occupational therapy and learning models to assist children with success in school, we are much more than the normal childcare center program.
Children & Families of Iowa collaborates and partners with different colleges that specialize in education and early childhood education. Our flexible work environment provides you with an opportunity to earn some income while working flexible hours to provide you time to attend classes.

• Hourly wage $15.00-$16.00 an hour depending on qualifications of applicant and on classroom programming (Early Headstart).
• 80 hours of vacation after 90 days of employment and up to 160 hours with service.

Assistant Childcare Teacher Example of Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and implementing educational/socialization programs for assigned groups of children, including those with special needs and who may have experienced trauma.
• Develop a relationship with the children that ensures monitoring and support of individual progress toward goals, helps identify problems which prevent progress, helps identify solutions to those problems; helps provide necessary client support and direction in implementing solutions to identified problems.
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans on a timely basis incorporating field trips, individual observations, and creativity with a willingness to assist with new ideas.
• Attend to personal, social-emotional and physical needs of children.
• Master and child management techniques that promote child safety and well-being.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required, with experience in childcare, and have or can obtain the CDA. Associate degree (AA) in Early Childhood education or in the process of obtaining one, is preferred. For our Early Head Start rooms (6 weeks-36 months): Child Development Associate (CDA) Degree with Infant/Toddler coursework required (or willingness to sign contract to obtain).
