About the role
The Meta Camera and Depth is focusing on developing and building the state-of-art cameras for Facebook AR/MR products, which gives people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. The system performance team is responsible for technology development and maturation, design, novel manufacturing/test/calibration processes and system integration of all Meta Camera and depth products.
The team is looking for an experienced and self driven Depth system calibration Engineer. The Employee will work with cross functional teams on technology calibration, bring-up, lead the development, qualification, characterization and implementation of the technology in Meta’s Camera and depth optical modules.Depth System Calibration Engineer Responsibilities

The team is looking for an experienced and self driven Depth system calibration Engineer. The Employee will work with cross functional teams on technology calibration, bring-up, lead the development, qualification, characterization and implementation of the technology in Meta’s Camera and depth optical modules.Depth System Calibration Engineer Responsibilities
- Design calibration and test plan for depth system.
- Perform end to end test setup, data collection, and analysis for setting up test specs and validation.
- Improve calibration and test coverage by developing lab and factory tests, including metrology and algorithm development.
- Performance system and module level failure analysis.
- Analyze volume data to improve system performance considering trade-offs from all perspectives.
- Domestic and or International travel 10%.
- BS degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Optical Engineering, Physics, or computer science.
- 3+ years of experience within hardware consumer industry, with experience in camera modules.
- Hands-on experience on 2D or 3D module calibration and test.
- Precise communication skills, analytical and problem-solving experience.
- Demonstrated data analysis experience in Python or Matlab.
- Test automation experience in Python or Matlab.
- Experience in E2E production/factory test (proto-build to mass production).
- Experience in image quality or signal processing for depth measurement systems.
- Experience in SW development for mass production.
- Experience in computer vision metrics and techniques.
