Overview
Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking a Lead Process Engineer for an hybrid role (3 days on-site, 2 days remote) based in Manassas, VA. Background in Engineering and Manufacturing is required for this role.
The Lead Process Engineer leads strategic initiatives, driving innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing and warehouse processes and products at ATCC's headquarters in Manassas. They provide expert guidance in recommending advanced operational technologies and processes, oversee complex project management activities, and spearhead equipment/system commissioning and qualification efforts at a senior level. They work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. They determine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).

Responsibilities
- Strategic Initiatives and Innovation: Spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing and warehouse processes and products. Your expertise will guide the adoption of advanced operational technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Project Management and Process Optimization: Handle complex project management tasks, from planning to execution. Oversee process optimization and new equipment implementation. Additionally, you will troubleshoot technical issues, ensure smooth manufacturing operations, and communicate findings through detailed reports and presentations.
- Leadership and Collaboration: You will lead process engineering efforts, fine-tuning limits, and variables to optimize efficiency. Simultaneously, you will mentor teams, fostering innovation and collaboration. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to strategically enhance overall operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years' experience, including 0-2 years' supervisory experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience in management of projects and cross-functional teams to implement new operational technologies and/or processes required.
- Experience in identification and implementation of process improvements within a manufacturing environment required.
- Background in Engineering and Manufacturing is required.
Preferred Experience:
- Development of business cases / project proposals for changes to production and operational processes.
- Commissioning and qualification of new manufacturing and/or lab equipment.
- Experience writing test plans, operational procedures, and study reports.
- Ability to use CAD to design and prototype fixtures and equipment and/or put together facility layouts.
- Experience working with robotics and automation and implementing IT/OT solutions.
- Work experience within the biotech, pharma, or medical device sectors
