Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Strategic Deterrent System (SDS) Division. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Liaison

  • Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.

  • Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and help define new operational strategies by working with senior leaders and other executives on special projects.

  • Navigate ambiguity and develop a systemic approach and strategy to address and solve problems.

  • Preparing charts, briefings and metrics as needed to provide the Division with visualization material necessary to understand the health of the organization.

  • Providing support to the Director’s team, including scheduling internal and external meetings.

  • Coordinating calendars, travel arrangements, expense reports and all forms of correspondence.

  • Manage resources, communications, risk management, and develop standards, processes, and tools related to project management that align with both corporate and DS sector policies, procedures, and guidance.

  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of requirements supporting multiple projects.

  • Assist with integration activities, data calls, metrics generation, data collection, and reporting.

  • Interface with leadership and the team to update project status, scheduling forecasts, and addressing future obstacles.

  • Delivering presentations and briefings on project status to internal leadership and customers.

  • Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization.
