The Assistant Director of Donor Engagement and Partnerships is integral to the success of the High and plays a vital role in advancing the goals of the Development Department and the museum at large. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of Philanthropy and works collaboratively across departments to elevate the donor experience and advance cultural partnerships. This position requires strong project management skills, creative thinking, a proven track-record of relationship building, flexibility, excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail and a passion for High and its mission. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate across departments and offer superior customer service for high-level members, partners, and donors.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday – Friday, 9am- 5pm.
- Flexibility required for long hours and weekends as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Build and nurture a network of cultural influencers, industry leaders, and high-net-worth individuals through highly tailored experiences, innovative collaborations, and strategic partnerships and focus on growing relationships that bridge industries—art, fashion, tech, entertainment, and beyond—creating unparalleled opportunities for museum supporters to engage, influence, and co-create impactful cultural experiences.
Developing and Sustaining Cultural Partnerships (40%)
- Identify and research potential strategic partners to build and nurture a network of cultural influencers, industry leaders, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Philanthropy to assess and strategically realign benefits and offerings for corporate sponsors and partners.
- Design and create bespoke proposals and sponsorship decks tailored to potential corporate partners and high-net-worth individuals.
- Curate exclusive member perks and deals through corporate partnerships to enhance member experience and increase partner visibility.
- Work with corporate and cultural partners to create high-impact co-branded events, product launches, educational workshops, and exhibitions.
- Facilitate cross-industry collaborations (e.g., fashion, tech, film, music) to create unique experiences for members and attract new audiences.
- Create high-touch experiences and stewardship plans for corporate partners and sponsors in collaboration with Associate Director of Corporate Development, Deputy Director of Philanthropy, and the Woodruff Art Center corporate development team.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship (40%)
- Develop forward-thinking and inclusive approaches to engaging high-net-worth donors aligned with the museum’s brand.
- In collaboration with the Deputy Director of Philanthropy, assess current programming and benefits offered at each level of membership and strategically realign offerings to strengthen the donor pipeline, deepen engagement, and enhance the museum’s culture of philanthropy.
- Create and execute exclusive programming for major supporters such as VIP receptions, behind-the-scenes tours (installations, studio visits, collectors’ homes), direct access to exhibiting artists, speaking engagements, private exhibition previews, networking mixers, art fairs, etc.
- Produce, design, and implement cultivation and stewardship strategies that provide meaningful interactions and recognition of donors at all levels
- In collaboration with the events team, assess and create stewardship plans for event co-chairs, winemakers, host committee members and sponsors.
- Research and implement technology platforms that improve donor engagement and access to analytics around their impact.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Enhancing the Donor Experience (20%)
- Support the alignment of fundraising and partnership initiatives with the museum’s broader goals and programming.
- Work closely with internal teams to develop integrated, cross-departmental programming that brings together the best of the museum’s offerings, from exhibitions and collections to events and educational initiatives.
