About the role

ECS is seeking a Project Manager to work in our Groton, CT office.  

 

ECS is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to support the development and integration of Cloud Solutions and Artificial Intelligence /Machine Learning (AI/ML) initiatives for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer.

 

This role is ideal for a technically curious and solution-oriented project manager who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys engaging with cutting-edge technologies and diverse stakeholders. The Project Manager will spearhead the research and development of AI/ML projects for both the DoD and its allied foreign partners. This role requires close collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including DoD personnel, international partners, internal ECS teams, external project stakeholders, and traditional federal contractors. The Project Manager will be responsible for translating customer priorities into concrete technical requirements, developing formal project plans, and overseeing execution to effectively meet mission objectives. The successful candidate will balance competing priorities, and ensure mission success through sound project planning, exceptional stakeholder management, and adaptive problem-solving.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the project manager supporting research, development, and deployment of emerging AI/ML capabilities for systems and secure cloud tenant builds.
  • Translate high-level mission objectives into executable project plans and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to define, track, and drive project priorities, risks, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with DoD customers, Foreign partners, integrators, cloud engineers, AI/ML specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and deliverables.
  • Support AI/ML deployment efforts workflows, tenant architecture, and solution adoption planning.
  • Facilitate regular customer engagement sessions, provide clear project updates, and proactively manage risks and blockers.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to planning, status reporting, and technical delivery milestones.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and partners involved in the execution of assigned special projects.

 

 

Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred)
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience in a technical, defense, or R&D setting
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams across technical and operational domains
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with rapid delivery of near-term priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in translating complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in high-velocity, high-ambiguity environments with shifting priorities
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS GovCloud or Microsoft Azure Government
  • Experience in software development, maintenance, and support.
  • Knowledge of sensor imaging systems and products and familiarity with AI/ML learning applications, integration, and testing/evaluation standards
  • Experience working in or supporting DoD or Navy programs
