We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Facilities Engineer in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Delaware Basin Business Unit, New Mexico East Asset (NME) based in Houston, TX.

This business unit’s objective is to grow production by developing new fields with an emphasis on unconventional reservoirs. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary asset team which includes production engineers, facilities engineers, reservoir engineers and operations personnel to help deliver business unit targets. Primary responsibility is to optimize oil and gas production at the well and field level. The successful candidate will demonstrate creativity, motivation, and teamwork necessary to challenge and optimize well performance potential and current field operation practices. Additional cross-functional team support and collaboration will include Planning, Land, Finance, Production Revenue & Accounting, Drilling, Completion, Facilities, Asset Operations, Well Analysis & Design, Reserves, Midstream, and Supply Chain.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure short and long term well development plans can be delivered without 3rd party takeaway limitation.
  • Assist in monitoring field wide performance to identify and implement production enhancements for wells, facilities, and or operations.
  • Work closely with subsurface, production, and field teams to optimize well drawdown and facility operations.
  • Collaborate within and outside the company to evaluate takeaway readiness for oil/gas/water and develop economic options to resolve system/facilities constraints and or production downtime due to takeaway limitations.
  • Primarily responsible for developing and managing an integrated hydraulic model for each product stream (water/oil/gas) to support field development planning and takeaway optimization.
  • Utilize flow simulation tools (e.g., PIPESIM, HYSIS, OLGA, Synergi, GAP) to identify system bottlenecks to help develop economic solutions.
  • Drive projects and initiatives to minimize surface facilities downtime and create KPI’s to monitor progress.
  • Ensure all basis of design incorporate latest HSE compliance, standards and recommended practices.
  • Participate in HSE initiatives and help drive for Operational Excellence
  • Develop or support standard designs for common infrastructure to benefit the organization.
  • Recommend system upgrades/retrofits/adjustments to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives for OPEX reduction and facilities optimization.
  • Conduct root cause failure analyses and implement preventive measures.
  • Prepare cost estimates, economic analyses, procedures, and AFEs for optimization projects as needed.
  • Prepare clear, technically supported memos, recommendations, and reports.
  • Participate in or coordinate HAZIDS, HAZOPS, PSSRs, and PHAs.
  • Mentor early career engineers and interns.

Qualifications - External

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME, ChemE, or PE) with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
