Responsibilities

The Centralized Patient Monitoring Department - Charge Nurse for Community Health System (CHS) has daily oversight and supportive resourcing of the clinical staff and the management of patient care. They serve as the primary liaison for an assigned care area with physicians, staff, patients, and families. They are responsible for coordinating patient flow and staff assignments and the oversight of patient safety, quality, and regulatory activities within the centralized patient flow and monitoring areas. 

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

Experience

  • 2 years of experience as a staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum of 35 points on the RN Competency Model Evaluation form required

  • 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN, or in a team leadership role required

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required

  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
