Southwest Care Center is currently seeking an experienced full-time Medical Staff Office Coordinator. This position supports all SCC locations in Santa Fe and Albuquerque; therefore, candidate must reside in the local market area of Albuquerque or Santa Fe, New Mexico and able to travel between the two cities as needed. 
 

Position Details: 

 

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Staff Office Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of duties related to the Medical Staff Office including credentialing, privileging, and maintenance of Medical Staff Policies and Procedures. This role is responsible for medical staff meeting management and participation in various committees as requested, maintaining appropriate documentation in accordance with the medical staff office policies and procedures, and preparing information as requested for presentation to the Board of Directors, Auditors, and other stakeholders. The MSO coordinates with and supports other SCC departments (e.g. Nursing, Quality, Management, Health Informatics) to provide data used in monitoring of various staffing metrics as requested. 

 

 Position responsibilities include but not limited to: 

 

1. Privileging, Credentialing and Licensure 

a. The incumbent is organizationally responsible to the Chief Medical Officer and as such has overall accountability and responsibility for coordinating the Medical Staff credentialing, privileging and licensure process in accordance with established bylaws.  

b. Assists providers with application for state licensure and application for prescriptive privileges at both the state and federal levels as needed.  

c. Processes new providers for initial appointments and reappointments to the SCC Medical Staff.  

d. Ensures the credential and privileging processes are consistently applied for every applicant.

e. Maintains systems to identify (and disseminate to others) medical staff members and their respective privileges, prepares and maintains other related records and reports (databases.) Oversees the completion, processing and fili
