Manufacturing Operations is accepting applications for the position of Experienced Operator located in El Segundo, California, through April 16th, 2026, 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Demonstrates knowledge of refinery operations including but not limited to crude unit operations, hydrogen producing, naptha hydro-treating, H2S processing, cogeneration, blending and shipping and has the ability to relate it to others.
Operates furnaces, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment, that process raw materials, feedstocks, product transfers.
Performs other assigned duties such as maintenance, repairs, housekeeping and emergency response requirements
Displays a comprehensive understanding of refinery policies and procedures
Demonstrate ability to be a problem solver. Able to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving skills to develop recommendations/solutions
Able to remove roadblocks and consider alternative approaches to arrive at workable solutions.
Looks for opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Is able to build rapport and establish positive working relationships both internally and externally to Chevron. Efficiently and effectively takes actions to meet customer needs. Responds and follows up on requests quickly and efficiently. Uses feedback to monitor and address customer concerns.
Ability to work closely within a group and with other departments to set priorities, coordinate and follow up on business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of work experience either as a Process Operator in an oil refinery/petrochemical plant or as a Nuclear Plant Operator.
Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift, overtime as required and on-call.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's/Technical Degree from a Process Technology Program
Demonstrates knowledge of the assigned processing unit and has the ability to relate it to others
Displays a comprehensive understanding of refinery policies and procedures
Demonstrates ability to be a problem solver
Able to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving skills to develop recommendations/solutions
