The AOG Technician supports Aircraft on Ground (AOG) response operations by performing maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting at customer locations. This role is responsible for executing mobile maintenance activities in time-sensitive environments while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and company standards.


The AOG Technician works closely with the AOG Coordinator and maintenance teams to deliver efficient, high-quality field support and a professional customer experience. This role is best suited for highly self-directed, high-performing technicians who thrive in independent, fast-paced environments and are confident making decisions in the field with minimal supervision.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to dispatched AOG events on a 24/7 on-call basis 
  • Travel to customer locations to perform inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft 
  • Perform maintenance tasks independently in time-sensitive and high-pressure environments 
  • Coordinate with the AOG Coordinator to provide status updates, technical findings, and support needs throughout AOG events 
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and approved technical data 
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used, and corrective actions taken 
  • Support work-away-from-station activities in accordance with repair station authorization and regulatory requirements 
  • Identify and communicate required parts, tooling, and technical support needs 
  • Perform operational checks, ground runs, and functional testing to support return-to-service (RTS) readiness 
  • Maintain readiness of assigned tools, equipment, and mobile support resources 
  • Represent Pilatus Aircraft USA professionally in all customer interactions 
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment 
  • Provide feedback to support continuous improvement of AOG response processes 
  • Perform independent troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance to support timely return to service 
  • Execute maintenance activities with minimal supervision in the field, while maintaining alignment with the AOG Coordinator 
  • Provide clear technical assessments and updates to support coordinated AOG response and decision-making 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
Requirements

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required 
  • 3–5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including demonstrated experience independently troubleshooting and resolving aircraft system discrepancies 
  • Experience maintaining turbine aircraft; Pilatus PC-12 or PC-24 experience preferred 
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems including airframe, engine, avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose, repair, and support return-to-service (RTS) activities in time-sensitive environments 
  • Proven ability to work independently with sound technical judgment in remote, customer-facing, or field maintenance environments 
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency with electronic maintenance records, work orders, and Microsoft Office applications 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces 
  • Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays 
  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours in support of AOG operations 
  • Commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and customer service 
  • Consistent track record of high performance, accountability, and urgency in prior maintenance roles
