Job Description
Under limited supervision, the candidate will be responsible for a variety of research activities related to spinal cord injury (SCI), multiple sclerosis (MS), stroke, and other disability related research grants. Duties will include contributions to overall data collection, processing, management, analysis, dissemination, and other activities as needed by the team. Note: This is a Research Grant position, and the length of requirement is one year, to be reassessed based on study needs at the end of the year.
Job Duties:
30% - Assist with data entry processing: Assists with the of data collection for research studies. Provides support to the overall team by entering data and conducting verification procedures with other data entry to ensure its accuracy and utility.
30% - Development of materials for dissemination and knowledge translation: The assistant will assist in the development of materials for dissemination directly to stakeholders based on research findings from our studies. This will include the identification and summary of relevant research. The assistant will assist with the development newsletters, research briefs, research alerts, and other materials intended for our stakeholder audience.
25% - Data organization and analysis: Stores databases and study documents in secure places, performs quality checks and preliminary analyses, assists in the development of PowerPoints and posters for presentations and manuscripts for publications.
10% - Outreach to stakeholders’ organizations and stakeholders: The assistant will work to develop social media outlets for our research activities, particularly working with both stakeholder and professional organizations that deal with people with SCI, MS, stroke, and other disabling conditions. Proactive in identifying stakeholder organizations, building relationships with such organizations, and working with them to get the findings of the research into the hands of the intended audience. Will interact with research participants to collect data for studies dissemination and or utilization.
5% - Leadership: Participates in team meetings, encourages, and supports colleagues in completing project work, assists with identifying efficiencies and improving processes and provides assistance with activities.
MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years of relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
