Role and Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering both hands-on testing outputs and foundational QA artifacts, including but not limited to: Exploratory testing and functional validation of application features and workflows, Creation, execution, and maintenance of test cases, Development and refinement of test plans and master test plans Identification, documentation, and tracking of defects with clear reproduction steps, Recommendations for test coverage, risk areas, and testing priorities, Contribution to QA documentation standards and repeatable testing processes, Automation contributions may occur where appropriate, but are not the primary deliverable.
- This role provides experienced, hands-on quality assurance support of application development and enhancement efforts. The candidate is expected to operate independently, apply sound QA judgement, and perform testing activities with minimal oversight.
- Responsibilities include exploratory testing, creation and maintenance of QA documentation, and contributing to improved testing practices in environments with typing levels of QA maturity.
Minimum Qualification
- Proven experience performing hands-on quality assurance testing in software applications
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile testing practices
- Experience creating test cases, executing tests, and performing exploratory testing
- Ability to develop or contribute to test plans and testing documentation
- Demonstrated ability to identify risk areas and adjust testing depth accordingly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide guidance, direction, and informal coaching to less-experienced testers
- Comfortable working in environments without fully established QA processes
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with test automation tools or frameworks
- Familiarity with accessibility testing principles (WCAG)
- Experience working on enterprise or government systems
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated test execution
