The University of Tennessee, College of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as Coordinator of Field Education for the MSSW program. The position is a one-year renewable appointment. Salary range is $56-$62K, dependent upon qualifications. This position is located at the College of Social Work’s Knoxville campus.
This position has responsibility for oversight and management of field education for MSSW students, including placement planning, development of field placement sites and training of field instructors, coordination of field liaison services, instruction of field seminars, problem-solving, and engagement in continuous quality improvement of field curriculum and procedures with the field faculty. Development of field placement sites will include soliciting and creating new partnerships/relationships with agencies through in person and online meetings, emails, phone calls and other forms of direct contact. This position supervises adjunct field liaisons and field instructors. As a member of the College of Social Work faculty, the position contributes to various college and university committees and service.
This position is supervised by the Director of Field Education and coordinates and works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Field and the field education faculty and staff. This is not a remote position, but there are some opportunities for flexible scheduling and hybrid work. Some travel is required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. MSW/MSSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program
2. Four years post-graduate social work practice experience
3. Strong identification with the mission and core values of social work.
4. Evidence of commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive climate in classroom or practice settings, in alignment with CSWE accreditation standards
Preferred Qualifications
1.Supervisory experience with students or staff, including experience as a Field Instructor or Field Liaison
2. Local or regional knowledge of community agencies
3.Experience with teaching or providing training, including the use of online platforms
4.Experience working with racially and ethnically diverse communities
5.Experience with recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers
