Principal Software Engineer

We are currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team!

Your day to day

You will be working in a vibrant environment, so you can never expect to have just another typical day at work. It’s definitely not your comfort zone, but you will never get bored, that is a promise.

As part of the team, you will work with Solution Architects, Developers, Data Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers and QAs to ensure the validity of work. You will also liaise with clients and stakeholders as part of a project team. You will be using the latest tools, techniques and methodologies.

On any particular day you will be doing several of the following:

• Be the technical lead on cloud based, data and AI related projects.

• Participate in agile meetings such as daily stand ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.

• Participate in design sessions with a Solution Architect, Developers and other Data Engineers.

• Perform code reviews, lead code review sessions, and provide mentoring to other developers.

• Analyze, design and implement software mechanisms to improve code stability, performance, security and reusability.

• Hands on programming.

• Document cloud based client solutions.

Requirements

You are expected to have 5+ years minimum experience on:

• Python programming using FastAPI, Flask, Django or similar backend frameworks, using well defined engineering patterns.

• .NET C# programming, including LINQ and .NET core.

• Angular (TypeScript), React or similar front-end frameworks.

• RESTful API services: understanding, consuming and implementing.

• A cloud technology, either Azure , AWS or GCP.

• CI/CD pipelines and tooling.

• SQL and developing against relational databases.

• Agile SDLC experience.

You are expected to have 2+ years minimum experience on:

• Working with at least one ORM.

• An IoC framework.

• TDD, including Mocking frameworks.

• Microservices architecture, containerized applications & Kubernetes.

We would particularly value software engineering skills such as strong OO, plus knowledge of GoF Design Patterns, Patterns of EAA and Cloud Design Patterns.

Above all, you are a team player and you like working in a diverse environment. We expect that you will have worked in some form of agile environment and understand the full SDLC involved. You will be well versed in the latest tools, techniques and methodologies of software development. You are definitely familiar with the full product development life cycle.
