About the role

Job Summary

The Sr. Manager, Architecture and Analytics will be highly motivated and detail-oriented to lead the creation, implementation, and refinement of critical metrics across our product development process. This role is pivotal in ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and reliability, as the metrics generated will directly inform executives’ strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a process-driven mindset, and the ability to manage and enhance the productivity of an administrative team.

The Sr. Manager will also manage a global team that has three primary functions (1) to architect, implement, and maintain the product development project management solution and associated work instructions (2) develop, implement, maintain, and interpret product development process metrics (3) shepherd users and projects through the project management solution driving the speed and efficiency.  A strong focus is required on lean principles, operational excellence, and continuous improvement with expected measurable evidence of year over year productivity and efficiency gains by strong focus on leaning/improving activities that matter.  

Responsibilities:

  • 60% Metrics development, data verification, and interpretation for actioning
  • 30% Project Management solution architecture, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement
  • 10%: Team development and capability and efficiency improvement

Metrics Development and Management:

  • Design, implement, and manage critical metrics for all phases of the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop a streamlined metric data architecture that is simple for users to populate while maintaining reliability and scalability.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency to support actionable insights and reliable decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine metrics to align with evolving business priorities and industry standards.
  • Present metrics and findings to C-Suite executives, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with strategic goals.

Data Integrity and Analysis:

  • Establish and enforce rigorous data quality standards, leveraging tools and processes to monitor and ensure data integrity.
  • Lead efforts to identify and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, or inaccuracies.
  • Interpret and analyze data trends, translating them into meaningful recommendations for process improvements.

Metric Data Architecture:

  • Develop a user-friendly, reliable data architecture that facilitates seamless metric population and minimizes user errors.
  • Collaborate with IT and system administrators to implement tools and interfaces that streamline data entry and ensure consistency.
  • Design intuitive workflows and templates to make the data architecture accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly test and validate the architecture to ensure it meets organizational needs and adapts to changes in business processes.

Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate existing product development processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and increased efficiency.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance overall capability and output.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by fostering innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor an administrative team, ensuring high performance, professional growth, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Define clear performance metrics for the team and ensure consistent monitoring and feedback to drive improvements.
  • Maximize team productivity by streamlining workflows, enhancing skill sets, and leveraging technology.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, operations, IT, and executive teams to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights that influence strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a change agent, championing a data-driven, continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent required
  • Advanced degree preferred but not required
  • Design for Six Sigma / Lean Six Sigma / Design Thinking experience preferred
  • 15+ years cumulative experience working in Operational Excellence and Continuous improvement in complex product development organizations – preferably ones with and Phase Gate processes
  • Strong communication skill
