CfOR Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Associate

Increasing demand for observational research (now commonly referred to as real-world evidence (RWE) from regulatory and reimbursement authorities) makes observational research a key component of drug development and commercialization. Amgen's Center for Observational Research (CfOR) is a global organization with an industry-leading analytical capability that generates RWE to support business needs across a product’s lifecycle.

CfOR scientists’ partner with internal team members and industry experts to design, conduct, interpret and publish observational research that informs decision-making from the early development of a molecule to the design of clinical trials and the safety and efficacy of Amgen medicines.

In this vital role you will be focused on providing provide strategic and operational support to Observational Research scientists, programmers and executives specializing in real-world evidence in service of CfOR’s growing Obesity portfolio and other CfOR-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates, analyzes, and maintains process flow diagrams to ensure efficient and effective operational workflows. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand and document processes, identify areas for improvement and automation, and implement changes that enhance overall productivity.
  • Documentation including communication plans, stakeholder analysis, implementation plans, project schedules, status reports, presentations, meeting minutes.
  • Develops strong collaborative relationships with internal partners to support and proactively respond to business needs including progress of functional goals and other functional process improvements.
  • Screens, categorizes, evaluates, reconciles, reports and resolves data integrity issues
  • Assists study leaders with start-up, oversight and close-out processes
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate complexity
  • Advances the use of productivity tools in the organization, such as Teams, Copilot, Smartsheet and Miro

Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a scientific or technical field and experience in project management and operations

Or

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field and 2 years of project management and operations

Or

Associate’s degree a scientific or technical field and 6 years of project management and operations

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of project management and operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent ability to learn and comprehend new concepts
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities
  • Robust experience with Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to effectively work in highly matrixed organization and deliver high quality results while managing through ambiguity
  • Time management and project / stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written, analytical and oral communication skills. Able to clearly and effectively present information
  • High proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Office suite, Miro, etc.
