At Cleveland Clinic's Respiratory Institute, we provide world-class patient care by combining our strengths in clinical care, research and education. With more than 170 pulmonologists, allergists/immunologists, infectious disease experts and critical care specialists, the Respiratory Institute staff diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of disorders in our outpatient offices, inpatient hospital floors, and intensive care units. We treat over 200,000 patients annually in our outpatient clinics and Cleveland Clinic is recognized in the U.S. and throughout the world for its expertise and care.
A caregiver in this position works variable shifts in partnership with their peers to ensure coverage is provided from 4:00am - 12:00am every day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
This is a hybrid position, with remote work days and scheduled on-site work days at all Ohio locations.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Oversee and direct all activities regarding respiratory therapy personnel in the Enterprise RT Flexible Staffing Pool.
Build collaborative relationships and maintain strong partnerships with respiratory managers and external staffing agency contractors.
Assist with the development of employee schedules, maintain employee records, and ensure accurate timekeeping for 100+ float RTs and PRN students.
Assist with employee performance evaluations and gives appropriate feedback.
Assist staff with identifying and utilizing learning resources available within the hospital/community.
Assist with the development of an ongoing program of orientation, training and education for new employees and students.
Participate in the development and maintenance of a performance improvement program.
Take measures to continuously improve the quality of services delivered.
Participate in the writing, reviewing, and updating of the Respiratory Therapy policies and procedures.
Assist with the development of the departmental budget, ensuring the availability of equipment and supplies.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and state law requirements.
Participate in long-term strategic planning and marketing of department services.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensed by the Ohio Board for Respiratory Care (RCP).
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
Three years of experience in critical care along with leadership, education, and/or research activities.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (N
