Job Description

The Student Hourly Assistant, under general supervision, will continue our efforts in accomplishing the CED objectives outlined in our CEP Plan of Work by assisting the Program Specialist in the research, program development, and marketing of assigned programs

The position is grant-funding or support by restricting funding. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grants or restricting funding

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance and support to CED staff at Headquarters and County related to small business development, marketing, social media marketing

• Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations

• Perform market research and distribute information to the community

• Provide support related to other CED related goals

• Report on ending results and/or completion of job duties related to CED objectives

• Utilize Microsoft Office Applications to prepare charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis

• Familiarize themselves with CED related fact sheets

• Collect data that support initiatives in the Community and Economic Development Department.

• Student will work in Waller County to support projects involving community-based organizations by providing surveys to individuals that will provide data to enhance Community & Economic Development outcomes

• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.

• Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA

• No prior experience necessary

• For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
