This role requires both strong technical ability as well as strong leadership and collaboration ability to work across teams and stakeholder groups. This is a highly collaborative fast paced role that will be working on multiple concurrent projects and various stakeholder groups.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to various stakeholders
• Excellent documentation skills for development of diagram, requirements, process mapping and overall design solutions
• Strong team player with curious and flexible nature.
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model) and network security concepts
• Expertise in network switch, routing, and security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.)
• Experience with security frameworks and standards (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Applies expert networking knowledge and experience to research, recommend, design, architect, and implement complex multi-vendor network solutions for the organization. Responsible for analyzing business and technical requirements, identifying broad network design issues, and providing solutions that meet the organization’s needs.

Job Description

Develop, design, and implement secure, resilient, scalable infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, network, cloud) aligned with business goals. Develop strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for technologies and services in your area of responsibility. Design, implement, and maintain our organization's server, storage and application hosting infrastructure at an optimal level of performance and availability. Apply expertise and problem-solving to consult on technology platforms in a strategic, resilient, secure, and cost-effective manner.

Analyze, scope and identify technical requirements for new and existing products, and determine optimum hosting configuration in hybrid (cloud, on-premises, SaaS) environments. Work with technical architects to obtain strategic designs and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure. Prototype and validate emerging computing/storage/cloud technologies.

Lead and infrastructure teams in building, managing, supporting and maintaining solutions while ensuring compliance with Sanford policy. Oversee or consult on mid-to-large, complex infrastructure projects. Foster and champion modern IT practices that embrace standardization, automation and artificial intelligence. Mentor senior infrastructure team members to provide technical guidance and promote a culture of excellence.

Build partnerships across the technology organization to align infrastructure design to business, security, resiliency, and architectural standards. Lead or consult on mid-to-large-scale infrastructure projects, requiring deep technical expertise and leadership. Provide strong leadership, communication, and project management skills while managing multiple simultaneous priorities. Work independently with minimal oversight as well as collaboratively as part of multi-disciplined teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field required.

10 years of technical experience in enterprise server, storage, or cloud environments with at least two years in a senior or principal level role. Advanced knowledge and experience with in enterprise compute systems, storage arrays, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud platform as a service, and server virtualization. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Proficiency with network topologies, communication protocols, application delivery controllers, load balancers, and firewalls. Proven ability to lead and mentor infrastructure engineers and administrators.

Advanced infrastructure certifications desired.
