Responsibilities
SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes.
This position is located in Beltsville, MD and Roslyn, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, integration, and deployment of cybersecurity tools across enterprise environments.
- Perform system builds, configurations, and security hardening for new and existing technologies.
- Integrate cybersecurity tools (e.g., Tenable, Splunk, endpoint protection) into existing infrastructure and workflows.
- Develop, test, and maintain Terraform code to automate secure infrastructure provisioning in Azure and on-prem environments.
- Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure seamless transition of engineered solutions into O&M.
- Support vulnerability management processes, including scanning, reporting, and remediation integration.
- Participate in system integration testing, validation, and deployment to ensure secure configurations and compliance.
- Provide engineering support and documentation, including detailed architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and technical procedures.
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity technologies and recommend innovative solutions to strengthen enterprise security posture.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years of relevant experience required; 7 years with a Master's, 4 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- To be considered for this position, applicants must either currently hold one of the professional certifications listed below or obtain one prior to their start date. Continued certification is required as a condition of employment.
- CASP+ CE, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA-Security, CCNP Security, CEH, CFR, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, SCYBER, VCA DCV, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev.
- Advanced Linux system administration experience, including shell scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
- Cloud integration experience.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Cybersecurity engineering, tool integration, and system hardening.
- System integration, testing, and enterprise deployment of cybersecurity tools and controls.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts, specifically using Terraform.
- Supporting and securing cloud environments, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, hybrid environments, and troubleshooting across distributed systems.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, RMF, and FISMA compliance frameworks.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- An active Secret security clearance.
- The ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience automating and securing Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform or similar IaC tools.
- Experience managing Linux-based systems in secure, high-availability environments, including patching, access control, and log management.
- Expertise with enterprise cybersecurity tools (e.g., Tenable, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto).
