(Senior) Project Manager (m/f/d) for mobile telecommunications software tools

In the OSS Project Management group, we manage large internal technology in the field of Operation Support Systems (OSS). These systems enable Telefónica to plan, install, monitor and analyze the generated data in the mobile network. In this integrated ecosystem numerous dependencies exist between tools.

 

Our project managers ensure that the projects are successfully delivered within time, scope and budget in cross-functional teams. We need you to translate the input of subject matter experts into backlog items that are ready for implementation. As the main contact for external implementation partners, you will prioritize, review results and ensure that real value is created. You help establish agile ways of thinking and working at Telefónica as a side effect.

 

 

What to expect

• Initiate a project by defining the scope, the needed time and budget
• Manage internal stakeholders as well as external software development partners
• Monitor progress in terms of value delivered, budget invested and time spent
• Manage the product backlog by keeping priorities up-to-date, items estimated, user stories and acceptance criteria clear and current
• Check delivered items for quality and provide feedback where changes and improvements are needed
• Ensure that the remaining backlog fits the remaining budget and time
• Identify risks and manage them
• Identify dependencies with other projects and manage them
• Organize the project hand-over including user acceptance tests, user trainings, formal sign-off

What you bring

• You have significant experience in project management and at least 3 years exrience in managing large, complex and nterdependent software projects
• You master agile as well as traditional project management methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFE, Spotify model)
• Experience in the telecommunications industry
• University degree or vocational training in a technical field related to telecommunication technologies or software development
• Project management certifications
• Advanced skills in PowerBI
• You are proficient in English (min. C1 proficiency required)

Nice to have:

• Experience in the telecommunications industry

• University degree or vocational training in a technical field related to telecommunication technologies or software development 

• Project management certifications

• Advanced MS Office skills eg in MS Project, Excel formulas, PowerBI

• Working knowledge of IT architecture, software development platforms and/or telecommunication applications
