GENERAL STATEMENT:

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Seasonal Band/Musician will be responsible for playing brass and singing for holiday events around the Northwest Division.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Officers and DHQ staff in the Program, Youth, Music, and Development Departments
- Play and/or sing for various events during the Kettle season.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Experience in brass instrumental performance and singing choral performances.
- Ability to read music at an accomplished level, treble clef strongly preferred
- Ability to work with and relate to people of various backgrounds in a nondiscriminatory manner regardless of age, sex, cultural history, ethnicity, economic level, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Strong communication skills demonstrated by experience in working with speakers of English as a second language, as well as cross-cultural communication.
- Adhere to all Salvation Army policies and procedures, and represent The Salvation Army in accordance with its mission.
- Familiarity with The Salvation Army’s area of service.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Be available to perform at kettle sites and events in Washington and Idaho, on evenings and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation or means of getting to and from events and sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis and for long periods of time
- Ability to move and pack music stands and chairs in and out of vehicles
- Ability to play in various types of weather
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually instruments)
- Ability to understand written information
