SUMMARY:

The Remote Sensing Analyst provides technical expertise and analytical services to support operations remote sensing and geospatial programs, resources and staff, and provides similar technical expertise in support of external resources within the scope of geospatial services.

LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Leads development of Sanborn Avalanche – Photon Counting Lidar (PCL) projects and methodologies.
  • Designs processing blocks for PCL projects and programs.
  • Manages data center resources and software for PCL processing.
  • Perform PCL data processing and point cloud aggregation.
  • Maintains designed PCL sample data library and other relevant datasets.
  • Convert and manipulate data from one format to another.
  • Act as a technical resource for clients.
  • Trains and assists junior-level staff.
  • Manage project budgets and develop new products.
  • Assures quality and follows Sanborn’s Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and provide ISO training to employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree in a Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing or related accredited educational program or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in remote sensing and related disciplines.
  • Background in GIS, imagery, lidar, geospatial and analysis using commercial software.
  • Familiar with common computer operating systems including Windows and Linux.
