Join UChicago Medicine, as a Lead Kidney Transplant Coordinator!

 

 As a Lead Kidney Transplant Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent clinical care, smooth operations, and providing guidance, clinical expertise, mentoring, and functional direction to achieve optimal patient outcomes.This role may include but is not limited to:  acting as a liaison between pre and post kidney transplant, and living kidney donor nurse coordinators and the Transplant clinical director; helping to facilitate new initiatives and improve workflows; and working with the Clinical Director to measure competencies and educational needs assessments within the work unit.  This role maintains responsibility for his/her clinical duties and patient load, while collaborating with transplant directors to improve workflows as needed. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the Transplant Institute and the UChicago organization.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Completes Transplant Nurse Coordinator job duties.
  • Helps to facilitate new initiatives and improve workflows.
  • Works with the Clinical Director to measure competencies and educational needs assessments within the work unit
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse with active IL Licensure
  • Hospital experience of at least 2-4 years in a transplant clinical environment and at least 1 year experience in the Transplant Nurse Coordinator role
  • Excellent oral, and interpersonal written communication skills, poise in teaching and consulting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a health related or business/legal field is preferred
  • Transplant Certification (CCTC or CPTC) strongly preferred or required within 12 months of hire
  • Experience in supervising, leadership and management functions, preferred
  • Transplant Board Certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
