Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Houston, TX.

JOB SUMMARY:

The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate an established career in Transportation Engineering including highways. This position will be responsible for managing the planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure. In this role, the Project Manager will manage small or medium size projects and serve as a Deputy Project Manager on large projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. 
• Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface. 
• Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
• Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 15+ years of previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and/or Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
• TxDOT Pre-certifications (Schematic Development, Roadway Design, Freeway Interchanges, Bridge Design, Multi-Level Interchange Design, Bridge Class Culverts, Signing & Pavement Markings, Illumination, Rail-Highway Design, Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities, Hydraulic Design, Environmental Studies, and Transportation System Planning)
• Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
• Experience with TxDOT proposals and interviews
• Proven experience of success with TxDOT pursuits
• Experience with managing people at various experience levels and ability to mentor with their career development
• Good communication skills and ability to manage a team
