About the role
Fluidra is looking for a Production Chemist to join our team in Sparks, MD. WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE The Production Chemist will be responsible for performing chemical batch preparation, following a predetermined recipe to mix or produce reagents, and monitoring the quality of finished goods produced in the Bottling Department. Work will be coordinated with the Department Supervisor, Lead, and Production Controller. Additionally you will:
- Set up and operate mixing equipment for the blending and compounding of raw materials to produce specific liquid and powder reagents
- Ensure quality of reagents using lab equipment and perform tests on products to make sure they meet standards and specifications
- Follow safety policies and procedures when handling chemicals to include proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Record all data on batch prep sheets and production in the ERP system.
- Interface with ERP system and Department Supervisor and/or Lead to ensure accurate inventory of raw ingredients.
- Inspecting the accuracy and quality of finished goods produced on the automatic and semi-automatic bottling lines.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with safety procedures and rules.
- Contribute to team effort by working where needed on the production floor.
- Must be able to work extended hours when required and stand for long periods.
- Knowledgeable about fire, safety, and chemical hazards.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Standing for long period

- Strong computer skills
- General chemistry knowledge
- Self-motivated
- Able to perform under tight deadlines
- Lab or production experience
- ERP experience
- Mechanical aptitude
Associate degree in chemistry, an applied science, or related field
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, preferred
Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
