Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the Building Control Systems WattStopper Team in Richardson, TX. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible to lead and execute both

direct material and indirect sourcing activities across the Building Control Systems family of brands. They will identify, organize, and execute strategic initiatives to drive optimum performance in terms of cost, quality, service, and CSR requirements. This includes identifying and qualifying alternate materials, alternate suppliers, and alternate means of manufacturing our products.

 

The incumbent is a strong, experienced leader capable of driving process change and fostering talent within the supply chain organization. The incumbent will lead initiatives that can range from straightforward strategic sourcing synergy projects to complex supply chain operational and transformational projects, driving supply chain efficiency and cost optimization for the business. Additionally, this leader will drive Legrand’s Corporate Responsibility (CSR) goals and targets to ensure such priorities are integrated as part of the BCS sourcing processes.

 

This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain & Logistics for the Building Control Systems business unit within the Lighting & Building Systems division of Legrand, North & Central America. 

 

What Will You Do?

  • Lead the strategic sourcing team, Owning supplier and commodity sourcing strategies, indirect purchasing, and supplier diversity and performance.
  • Drive change management to build strong sourcing capabilities across the organization.
  • Implement and monitor purchasing process compliance, both within BCS and in line with the Legrand group standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor transactions to ensure that all contracts and negotiations conform to the corporate policies.
  • Drive supplier compliance to all Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
  • Align existing and new product supply chains, matching geographic risk and capabilities to the needs of the business; Develop a 3-year roadmap to reduce cost and risk across the entire supply chains.
  • Serve as liaison between Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain and Operations on all New Product Introductions and End of Life activities to ensure alignment with the supply chain strategy.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in conjunction with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Purchasing functions.
  • Identify and lead projects to reduce our dependency on single source suppliers.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and drive annual material productivity initiatives.
  • Develop a process to support BCS supplier QBRs, vendor performance and supply chain audits.
  • Participate in the consolidated corporate supplier bidding process.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • BS degree: Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or Sourcing focus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in Sourcing or Supply Chain, Engineering, or Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience working in a Production or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience leading a team, developing talent, & driving results.
  • Arena, JDE, Jaegger, &/or Ecovadis experience a plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leader with strong negotiation and communication skills to drive organizational change.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to be a problem solver, get into the details of process and data to build sound business cases.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain best practices, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and/or category management strategies, and use of PLM, QMS, and ERP/ MRP systems.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to create and manage a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines, and control several projects at various stages of work.
  • Highly collaborative and able to gain alignment across various levels of the organization.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and proven ability to efficiently research and summarize information effectively and make recommendations based upon analysis.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a variety of teams.
