Barrington Orthopedic Specialists Rehabilitation Department offers comprehensive outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation services, occupational therapy/hand therapy services, and several specialized wellness programs at all 4 of our facilities. Our Industrial Rehabilitation Program specializes in returning the injured worker back to the workplace and is located at our Schaumburg office.

Position Summary:

Barrington Orthopedic Specialists is seeking a full-time Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for our new Palatine location. You will work closely with a team of skilled clinicians and orthopedic surgeons across numerous orthopedic sub-specialties. The Physical Therapy Assistant treats functional impairment through the application of physical medicine and rehabilitation modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This individual provides individualized goal directed treatment to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. They will also promote independent maintenance of functional improvement through home exercise instruction, as well as patient and family education. This individual appropriately delegates treatment tasks to clinical support staff. They are responsible for maintaining a thorough and accurate documentary record of any care provided in a manner consistent with the department’s stated best practices for documentation. The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing accurate billing and coding for any care provided in a manner consistent with the department’s stated best practices for billing and coding.

Job Duties:

• Provide quality care for patients receieving physical therapy services according to national, state and department standard of care
• Respond to referrals for physical therapy services
• Implement treatment plans accordingly
• Provide thorough and accurate objective measures
• Provide thorough and accurate re-assessments and modifications to treatment plans and activities
• Provide services in a cost-effective manner
• Use department resources effectively to ensure highest quality of care
• Complete all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and current information
• Complete appropriate financial management responsibilities
• Submit CPT codes to all billing claims according to department guidelines
• Demonstrate sound cost containment techniques
• Bill appropriately for services rendered and DMEs issued
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary range will be determined based on experience:

$58,000 - $62,000

• Active PTA License required
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records System IS A PLUS
