Chem-Aqua Production Planner
Department: Equipment Manufacturing
Reports To: Planning & Logistics Supervisor
Mission: Our mission is to deliver high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective pretreatment and chemical feed systems that require minimal installation time and limited technical expertise from our sales team and customers. While our core business and primary revenue stream remain the sale of water treatment chemicals, the Equipment Division is committed to streamlining installation and start-up, allowing our field force to focus on accelerating chemical sales and driving business growth.
Purpose of the Job: The Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring production schedules to ensure the timely and efficient manufacturing of water treatment equipment. This role ensures that materials, resources, and labor are aligned to meet customer demand, while maintaining accuracy in Oracle systems for scheduling, inventory, and order management. By coordinating closely with procurement, production, sales, and engineering, the Production Planner helps drive on-time delivery, optimized workflow, and overall operational efficiency.
Level of Authority: The Production Planner performs work under the direct supervision of the Planning and Logistics Supervisor. Latitude is given for independent actions and decisions.
Work Environment: Work is mostly performed at a workstation in an office environment. Some functions are performed in a manufacturing environment with ambient temperatures varying between seasons from 40oF – 100oF.
Work Hours: Normal weekday office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required to meet our sales force and customer needs. Compensatory time off or overtime will be offered when these job requirements occur.
Travel: No travel required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develops and assigns weekly production schedules using the Priority Board downloaded from Oracle.
- Reviews material requirements in Oracle to ensure inventory is available on time for builds.
- Coordinates and tracks the delivery of special-order items to support scheduled jobs.
- Communicates lead times, production schedules, and shipping status to Sales Representatives.
- Closes jobs and releases new orders in Oracle with accuracy.
- Works closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure equipment is built and shipped on schedule.
- Adjusts routing times in Oracle based on time studies conducted by the Production Supervisor.
- Updates and corrects Bills of Materials (BOMs) as needed to support accurate planning and production.

- Complete special projects set forth by the Director of Equipment Operations
Qualifications And Capabilities
TECHNICAL
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Oracle a plus.
PHYSICAL
- Must have physical strength and ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry such a weight for 100 feet.
- Must have good visual ability for close-up observations and use of analytical and control equipment
- Must have good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors.
- Must have hearing sufficient to hear verbal and audible signals at a moderate distance.
- Must be conditioned to sustain work in a manufacturing environment that ranges in temperature from 40oF – 100
