Job Summary:
The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for creating and implementing technology related training, learning and development programs for attorneys and business professionals. This includes using a variety of delivery methods to support the proper use and adoption of firm applications.
Essential Job Duties:
•Partners with stakeholders to provide learning opportunities for attorneys and staff on the Firm's core software applications for new hire development and ongoing proficiency training to ensure all Firm employees are empowered, self-sufficient and informed of the effective and efficient use of Firm technology
•Collaborates with the Information Technology team on rollouts and upgrades by participating in pilot testing
•Develops and updates learning materials and training programs for software applications and upgrades implemented by the Information Technology team
•Provides third level support to the Service Desk and one-on one coaching to help employees solve complex problems that require more in-depth knowledge of certain applications (Word, Excel, NetDocs, etc.) and promotes best practices in work processes
•Ensures that learning materials and course offerings on the LMS are kept up to date
•Tracks learning programs through the Learning Management System and provides training metrics as required.
•Promotes new Firm-approved technology when/if it will result in better functionality and service
•Researches and recommends emerging learning technologies and trends for modern, relevant learning solutions and attends training workshops, conferences and other professional development activities when available
•Coordinates with outside training vendors when in-house training is not appropriate or feasible; serve as liaison with outside training vendors
•Collaborates with training team; provides input into and executes technology training strategy
Minimum Requirements:
•A strong background training Microsoft Office and other applications
•Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, education, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
•Minimum of 2 years of training experience required
•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
•Experience with technical writing and eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, or Articulate Storyline
•The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize duties, and use good judgment
•Must have good time management skills and be able to meet quick-turnaround deadlines
•Must be a team player who promotes firm-wide initiatives in a positive manner
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
