About the role

Responsible for assisting with the mailroom functions in support of the admissions and recruitment activities of the university. This is a full-time position that works during the academic year (August-May).

Essential Functions:

  • Receive, route, process, and distribute admissions and recruitment mail.

  • Data entry (load and maintain) into the customer relationship management and student information system.

  • Assemble, process, and mail correspondence including admissions packets and responses to student inquiries.

  • Assist with small and large mailings in support of admissions and recruitment activities.

  • Assemble and mail or deliver supplies/brochures/publications in response to campus departmental requests.

  • Use information provided by computerized reporting to monitor and maintain the quality and accuracy of recruitment data.

  • Must be able to lift and transport up to 60 lbs.

  • Assist with the processing of application materials including scanning, uploading materials, and reviewing submissions.

  • Customer service, including answering phone calls and emails and assisting with in-person events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.

  • Ability to operate office equipment.

  • Data entry experience.

  • Typing and spelling competency.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to provide quality customer service.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.

  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college course work.

  • Experience in higher education.

  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management tool such as Slate.

Supervision Received:

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised:

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.

Salary: C-2 Level. Minimum starting salary of $18.36 per hour.

Campus: Allendale

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week) 8a-5p during the academic year
