Systems Engineer (Elastic) - Principal

Location: Dulles, VA

Must have an active Secret Clearance

Node is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize of the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services.

Node is seeking a Systems Engineer (Elastic) to support this critical customer mission.

Responsibilities:
• Designs, implements and configures Kibana visualizations
• Designs and configures Elasticsearch instance(s)
• Designs Elasticsearch indices to efficiently store data currently optimizing both performance and the need for growth
• Collaborate and work with a diverse group of engineers in developing solutions for ingesting heterogeneous datasets in large volumes
• Deploys, configures, tests and troubleshoots Elastic clusters and environments
• Maintains and upgrades Elastic clusters and environments

Requirements

Required Skills:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Must have an active Secret clearance; TS/SCI is preferred
• Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
• 2+ years of directly relevant experience
• 8+ years of overall engineering experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with Elastic Stack components, especially Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
• Hands-on experience with Elastic Stack Version 5.0
• Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations

Desired Skills:
• Experience with one or more of the following: Grok, Nodejs, Java, Ruby, and Go
• Proficient with the configuration of Beats including FileBeats, MetricBeats
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch 6.8.x – 7.9.x a plus
• Familiarity with Elastic ECE
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Working Knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems

Required Education:
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.
