Job Overview

 

The Senior Site Manager is responsible for managing Getinge’s Distribution Operation of 60+ employees of products of over 1.5B in revenue and $100M of inventory. The position is an experienced manager in charge of planning and managing the Distribution Center’s (DC) performance and updating / communicating process improvements with customer services and senior management. The manager is responsible for directing, optimizing, and coordinating all DC functions, as well as liaising and working with sales, manufacturers, and various Quality Assurance and Regulatory departments. The position will be a key partner in staffing and coaching employees for the location. This position will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for optimizing, including automation, for US distribution. The Site Manager is required to be onsite throughout the work week and oversee multiple shifts.

This position reports to the Director Logistics.

The position works standard business hours i.e, 8:00am - 5:00pm. The position is required to be onsite 5 days a week Mon-Fri.

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance SOPs for building security and loss prevention. Ensure that the site adheres to SOPs and guidelines.
  • Plan projects and sets objectives for the employees to meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets. Also responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plans and goals for DC. Be able to present these plans and objectives to Getinge management and the Logistics team.
  • Manage and develop people manager positions responsible for various aspects of the operation.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and safe operating practices, this includes implementing worker safety and health regulations, and related guidelines.
  • Research and implement essential industrial engineering, automation, process improvement and labor standards.
  • Track quality, efficiency and turnaround time of all functions, including order processing. Be able to present and share findings comprehensively to Logistics Management team.
  • Create and communicate a layout plan that streamlines the storage and retrieval of goods.
  • Ensure that the site responds to orders efficiently so that products are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for managing DC budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
  • Implement business appropriate material handling systems. This includes developing, maintaining metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Work with the Senior Logistics Engineer create the strategy for automation and optimization of warehouse and ensure its implementation.
  • Coordinate and identify with the Sales and Purchasing Teams regarding errors in the supply chain process.
  • Collaborate with functional department leads to establish carrier selection and contract negotiation.
  • Drive collaborative meetings with other managers regularly to discuss products and shipping times, and find solutions for distribution issues and related concerns.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic maintenance of MHE.
  • Coordinate WMS code changes with IT and WMS vendor.
  • Ensure that the site complies with laws, regulations and IO requirements.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Warehouse operations and Distribution.
  • A minimum of 6 years managing multiple employee levels within a Distribution environment.
  • Proven knowledge of distribution software which includes proficient in SAP, Blue Yonder, Excel, MS Word and WMS functionalities.
  • Proven knowledge of inventory/warehouse management systems.
