Our National Medicaid Financing (NMF) Practice works with clients such as states, counties, health systems, safety net hospitals, academic medical centers, physicians, nursing facilities and medical schools navigate the opportunities to strengthen their Medicaid business through the conception, creation and implementation of programs designed to increase Medicaid reimbursement and leverage their unique capacities to deliver on the quality and value propositions growing in Medicaid.  Our teams work together to ensure that technical, policy and political solutions are created to ensure successful results for our clients, particularly in the area of Medicaid financing.   
About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant, Healthcare Quality who will provide healthcare quality expertise to project teams and external clients, promoting the timely and effective approval and implementation of Medicaid financing programs. This corporate position provides objective guidance and expertise on the design and structure of quality components within Medicaid programs. As a Senior Consultant, Healthcare Quality, you will provide specialized skills in the areas of health care quality improvement and value-based care initiatives with the aim of creating value for our clients and ensuring successful healthcare outcomes for Medicaid recipients. You will also provide subject matter expertise and guidance to help clients establish healthcare quality improvement strategies to achieve their quality goals and objectives, and work in partnership with the project team and client in designing, developing, and executing improvement initiatives and evaluation plans that meet the requirements specified by CMS.  
Key Responsibilities
  • Attend internal and external project meetings to remain knowledgeable about program specifics and updates.
  • Provide verbal and written guidance to project teams and clients on: 
           o   CMS quality policies and guidance updates and program application
  ��        o    State quality strategy and healthcare quality environment in the state
           o    Selecting appropriate quality metrics to meet program goals.
           o    Implementing initiatives to improve quality, access, and equity.
           o    Measuring the impact of initiatives and using data to drive change.
  • Measuring the impact of initiatives and using data to drive change.
  • Monitor state and federal policy news to keep abreast of current policy.
  • Proactively develop broader and deeper knowledge of healthcare quality policy, payment models, and improvement strategies.
  • Utilize client goals, policy rationale, and State Medicaid Strategy to develop measure selection tool for client.
  • Guide client through measure selection and performance target development.
  • Develop measure definition documents, reporting templates, and other tools as needed by client to support demonstrating impact of program.
  • Aggregate and analyze quality data to measure the impact of programs on the Medicaid population.
  • Prepare written evaluation summaries and state/client facing presentations to document the full impact of programs on the Medicaid population in the respective state.
  • Develop internal presentations and materials to educate the firm about quality process, policy, and projects.
  • Develop external presentations and materials to educate client teams.
  • Communicate with the project teams and clients about quality deadlines and over-arching timelines. 
  • Provide technical guidance to client data teams to facilitate appropriate metric data gathering and reporting.
  • Educate client quality teams on quality improvement strategies and best practices to drive better outcomes for Medicaid patients.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5-10 years of experience with healthcare quality improvement, quality measurement, or in the healthcare consulting industry.
