About the Role

Our 10-week Gap Inc. Summer Internship Program offers meaningful work experiences across various business areas, allowing you to deepen your functional knowledge and immerse yourself in the fast-paced retail industry. You’ll work on projects that directly impact our bottom line and present your work to senior management, while also participating in company events like executive speaker series and off-site activities. Upon completion of the internship, successful interns will be well-positioned for full time roles after they graduate.

The Asset Protection Security Intelligence Intern will gain exposure to the critical responsibility of Global Security and daily monitoring of all incoming risk event alerts, event notifications and International SOS (ISOS) travel advisories. The intern will assist the team on tracking and monitoring internal and external intelligence sources for incidents that could potentially impact Gap Inc. assets including domestic and international travelers, retail brand stores, Customer Experience Centers, Customer Contact Centers, HQ facilities, photo studios and major corporate events (Investor Meetings, Annual Shareholder Meetings, Field Leadership Conferences, etc.) during global incidents or crisis events.

Salary Range: $32.00 - $34.00 Per Hour

What You'll Do

  • Support Global Security team with local or remote leadership support by providing ongoing oversight of risk event alert monitoring and situation reporting. 

  • Gain experience in new Intelligence products as well as analyze existing intelligence tools to provide recommendations for improvement. 

  • Learn and apply the Global Security Intelligence Gathering and Dissemination process. 

  • Assist team with internal intelligence and risk analysis tools and systems. 

  • Maintain highly sensitive and confidential information. 

  • Track, document and report progress on projects and initiatives in areas of responsibility. 

  • Participate in monitoring of open-source intelligence, social media platforms, and client specific intelligence gathering tools for known and potential threats to Gap Inc. assets. 

  • Assist with analysis of relevant threats and produce actionable intelligence products in a timely manner for any and all incidents including but not limited to threat assessments and travel risk assessments. 

  • Support GSOC Operators and response efforts providing guidance within the scope of the intelligence gathering and reporting processes. 

  • Ensure communication with BCP, Market ICS groups, Asset Protection partners, Global Security Management and other key business partners on matters related to employee welfare, global incidents, operational issues and critical situations to assist with employee wellness and business decisions. 

  • Attend internal team meetings and working session, virtually and/or locally. 

  • Assist in developing situation briefs, process documents and training presentations for Global Security management. 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress 

  • Must be in your Junior academic year graduating in December 2025 and Spring 2026   

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday from mid-June to mid-August 

  • Prior experience working in a security, safety, or emergency operations center 

  • Ability to work independently and creatively with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
