Dive into Urban Science’s vibrant intern community by actively participating in networking events and social activities with over 20 interns. Our interns become a part of diverse teams including those that develop software and IT solutions, analyze data, support client deliverables and corporate teams. Throughout the program, you’ll expand your knowledge through insightful lunch-and-learns with business leaders and unique learning opportunities that cover broader business topics and valuable career development skills. Additionally, you'll gain practical skills through scrum training sessions, professionalism workshops and the chance to tackle meaningful projects that make a real impact.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Operations Intern will support the End User Computing function within the Enterprise Applications team, assisting Urban Science end users with their desktop, laptop, and mobile devices hardware and software needs.
The person selected for this position will work up 20 hours during the current school semester; and 40 hours a week during May – August 2025. There is also an option to renew for up to 20 hours a week again during the Fall 2025 school semester.
This role has current Hybrid Workplace flexibility local to our Long Beach, CA office location. Candidate must be available and willing to work at least one day in-person per week required and up to two as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of most desktop technologies and the company specific environment configurations to analyze and solve a wide range of issues in the desktop computing environment.
- Responsible for assisting with troubleshooting, setting up new users, configuring mobile devices, fixing printer issues, and rebuilding computers.
- Identify equipment requirements including hard drives, phone and other technical equipment in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Provide an initial level of support for server based application solutions.
- Provide guidance and assistance to employees to ensure they have the right technology and that it is configured properly.
- Assure software license and asset information is properly maintained.
- Participate in IT Operations projects encompassing a range of technologies as needs arise.
- Operate IT service management system to dispatch and maintain tickets to facilitate proper ticket flow and accurate data in reporting.

Preferred basic knowledge of:
- End User Computing configuration management tools, Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM), and Microsoft Intune
- Modern workplace technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft Power Platform, Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Sky
