About the role

The Grant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of State and Federal grants for our organization. This includes researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals and reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of grant regulations, compliance requirements, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Strong understanding of State and Federal grant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to consistently identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations based on observations
  • Strong demonstration of alignment with Adler’s social justice mission and vision
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and visioning acumen
  • Ability to proactively identify challenges and barriers to stated objective and employ assistance in addressing these

  • Proficiency in grants management software (such as Raiser’s Edge or similar) preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential State and Federal grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
  • Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals, ensuring all required documentation and information is included.
  • Monitor and manage grant deadlines, ensuring timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all grant-related documents, including applications, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with grantors, including government agencies and foundations.
  • Ensure compliance with all grant regulations and requirements, including financial reporting and auditing processes.
  • Work closely with program staff to gather necessary information for grant proposals and reports.
  • Track and report on the progress and outcomes of funded programs, providing regular updates to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of grant policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Work Environment (Physical Demands):  The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
