Purpose

The Experiential Education Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education in the College of Pharmacy and contributes to a collaborative and mission-driven team committed to preparing future pharmacy leaders through hands-on clinical education. In this pivotal role, the coordinator will help shape the student experience across Texas by coordinating and enhancing the College of Pharmacy’s Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE/APPE). This role serves as a vital link between students, faculty, preceptors, and clinical sites, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experiential learning program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the execution of IPPE and APPE rotations, ensuring they run efficiently and align with program goals.

  • Act as a liaison between the Experiential Education Office, Academic Advising, and the Office of Academic Affairs to support student progress and program integration.

  • Facilitate communication across all regions of Texas—managing rotation updates, facility access, and logistical needs between the central office in Austin and regional teams.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for student pharmacist interns, preceptors, clinical sites, and regional personnel—providing guidance and support throughout the experiential journey.

  • Assist with intern credentialing, ensuring that all P1–P4 students meet eligibility requirements to access clinical practice sites.

  • Coordinate strategic meetings, including the Experiential Council and Preceptor Conference, to strengthen program development and stakeholder engagement.

  • Drive operational improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing proactive solutions that enhance administrative systems and support the office’s educational mission.

  • Take initiative on additional projects and responsibilities that contribute to the continued success of the Experiential Education Office and the College of Pharmacy.

  • Additional duties as assigned
